Hey,
Salty ConsultingAn operations, management, and strategy consulting firm based in the Salt Lake City area. We typically work with small-to-medium businesses, churches and other houses of worship, and community organizations.
In all client settings, we believe that mission and operational needs drive the overall solution and technology requirements – not the other way around. Throughout our process, we work together with each client to develop and implement pragmatic solutions that are appropriate for them. We care more about being sensible and helpful than about pushing unnecessary sales. We also lean into the ethical, sustainable, inclusive, and creative. If you have a challenge, we'll help alleviate it; if you have room for improvement, we'll help identify, develop, and implement methods to enhance your organization. No matter the situation, we love helping our clients do what they do best, better. Find out more at saltyconsulting.com. | salt of the earth | based in Salt Lake | worth our salt | |
Recovery WorshipAn ecumenical, inter- and extra-denominational, safe, loving, and radically inclusive worship space-time in Utah. We gather on Sunday evenings for dinner, worship, and community.
This is a new worship service with some liturgical structure and traditions at its foundation, but stripped of man-made exclusivity and intersecting oppressive influences as much as possible, leaving God-given grace and mercy given for all souls. A space and time for progressive Christian worship where every individual is affirmed as inherently valuable to God, and our call to love God and love one another is kept a focal point. A worship service for deprogramming; for unfundamentalists; for those pushed aside by historical man-made structures; for women; for people of color; for LGBTQIA+ communities; for people with disabilities; for immigrants; for indigenous peoples; for families of one and families of many; for children and youth, the elderly, the young-ish, and the middle-aged; for the oppressed, the recovering oppressor, and those who are both; for the love of all humankind. Our recovery. |
Individual or Group CoachingThe vast majority of us want to be good people who have healthy relationships and have a positive influence on the world around us. But this requires intentional self-improvement and ongoing growth, which can be too easy to put perpetually on hold as we get caught up in our day-to-day happenings.
My coaching/mentoring clients have found it extremely helpful to have another person (that's me) provide objectivity, knowledge, and insight that act as a catalyst and sustaining force for change. Going beyond just an initial meeting to establish context and provide immediate help, regular check-ins also give a sense of safety and accountability for long-term growth. I take a holistic approach, recognizing that none of us exist in a vacuum; the various aspects of our life blend into each other. Rather than flattening one part of life, this method of coaching produces an intersecting and synergistic benefit for the client. Clients are enabled to grow and improve their relationships throughout their full range of life activities and relationships. More than a simply vague idea of life coaching, team building, or 'good vibes only' mentality, part of the basis of my coaching is (re)discovering our interconnectedness and our inherent humanity, in order to build respect, understanding, and healthy relationships. From that, we can acknowledge and affirm our differences, and work to overcome toxic forces that would otherwise harm our group culture, our relationships, and our activities. Whether you are in a corporate, non-profit, volunteer, or more independent setting, I would love to help you grow in your context as an individual, manager/team-leader, team/family/department, or business/organization. |
Speaking, Leading WorshipI am available for guest speaking/preaching and for leading special worship services, and in fact this is something I really enjoy doing! If this is something that your group or congregation is interested in, send me a note and let's talk.
For special occasions, we may be able to bring an accompanist or full band in order to provide music as well. WeddingsAfter several years of consideration and discernment, I became ordained through American Marriage Ministries, a non-profit, interfaith, non-denominational constitutional church recognized as a 501(c)3. The basis of AMM is the belief that any and every consenting couple has the right to get married and also to choose who marries them, and I fully agree.
Writing, Upcoming PodcastI've published some of my writings here on jenjesse.com, and I'm planning to do so more regularly along with a podcast. Stay tuned.
