Hi, I’m Jen!

Just about everything in life is like an elevator button - either bringing you up or taking you down.

I am a fixer by nature and disruptor by choice, with a strong passion for improving the status quo in any realm of life. Generally speaking, I love making things more effective, efficient, tailored/unique, accessible, functional, and beautiful.

In operational contexts, this shows up as streamlining processes, finding and solving complex problems, and clarifying missional objectives.

In any/every context, this shows up as building community by making room at the table and amplifying voices and points-of-view that historically have gone ignored by society and its institutions.

Originally I am from the DC area, where I graduated from TJHSST and GMU; after moving around a bit, I am now living back on the east coast in Maryland with my spouse (Josh) and our two rescue pups (Jordy and Jackson).

My other interests are varied and numerous, especially in the areas of music, science fiction, design, and making things.

My Work

Management Consulting - Advisory & Implementation

I have 18 years of consulting and operations management / improvement experience across multiple industries.

In all internal and external client settings, I believe that mission and organizational needs drive the overall solution and any technology requirements – not the other way around. Throughout the advisory and consulting process, I work together with each client to develop and implement pragmatic solutions that are appropriate for them.

I have never been much into pushing unnecessary sales — I care more about being sensible and helpful, and leaning into the creative, ethical, sustainable, and creative.

If you have a challenge, I'd love to alleviate it; if you have room for improvement, I'd love to identify, develop, and implement methods to enhance your organization.

No matter the situation, I love helping my clients do what they do best, even better.

Public Speaking

Have a large group or special event, or not quite ready for a longer-term coaching relationship? Contact me to discuss a public speaking engagement or training event!

Depending on client, setting, and mission, I am prepared to teach or speak on a number of topics ranging from strictly operational trainings to building a healthier culture.

Individual or Group Coaching

The vast majority of us want to be good people who have healthy relationships and have a positive influence on the world around us. But this requires intentional self-improvement and ongoing growth, which can be too easy to put perpetually on hold as we get caught up in our day-to-day happenings.

My coaching clients have found it extremely helpful to have a dedicated expert provide objectivity, knowledge, and insight that act as a catalyst and sustaining force for change.

Going beyond just an initial meeting to establish context and provide immediate help, regular check-ins also give a sense of safety and accountability for long-term growth.

I take a holistic approach, recognizing that none of us exist in a vacuum; the various aspects of our life blend into each other. Rather than flattening one part of life, this method of coaching produces an intersecting and synergistic benefit for the client. Clients are enabled to grow and improve their relationships throughout their full range of life activities and relationships.

Whether you are in a corporate, non-profit, volunteer, or more independent setting, I would love to help you grow in whatever your context may be.

Individual coaching is appropriate for people looking to grow as a manager / team leader, community leader, or simply as a person.

Group coaching is most appropriate for small-to-medium groups looking to grow as a team, family, or simply as individuals helping and growing along each other.

Leadership Style

People over Profit

It's often said but less often lived: a company's most important resource is its people.

The unfettered shareholder model, seeking to eke out scaling profit margins year over year, is neither sustainable nor ethical.

Our work should be shaped by what is beneficial to the world, to our communities, our clients, our team members, and our other stakeholders.

Collaboration > Competition

If we're on the same team, then we're on the same team. Intra-team competition impedes all of our success. And if we're competing against an external entity, we're behind their curve and have already lost.

Let's compete with ourselves to exceed our own goals and to be continually better than we were yesterday.

Systems Thinker

Everything is related! I detangle processes and operations, make sure we are not hindered by silos, and translate best practices and lessons learned between systems.

Universal Leadership

Everyone is a leader in some way. Though we may have different roles and activities, every individual influences at least someone in the wider group.

We are billboards of our values, our attitudes, and our direction - so let's make sure everyone on the team is aligned.
